This is a replacement recruitment of an existing position.

We are seeking applications for the position of Faculty Member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in our School of Environment and Sustainability within the faculty of Social and Applied Sciences.  In this role you may be required to teach and assist in the delivery of courses in the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science program, supervise and oversee operations of the laboratory, and undertake research consistent with the mandate of Royal Roads University.

As the successful candidate, you will have demonstrated teaching excellence, an established research track record, and an ability to work as a team member within an interdisciplinary outcomes-based curriculum.  Strong theoretical and applied skills in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, toxicology and related sciences will be considered. 

To be well suited for this role you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • PhD, or be near completion of a PhD, in a related field
  • Broad theoretical understanding of sustainable development
  • Biochemistry expertise
  • Senior lab instructor experience
  • Teaching experience, including international

The following would also be strong assets in the position:

  • Familiarity and experience with distance education and teaching
  • Work experience in the field, including international
  • Applied research experience
  • Ability to employ adult learning and applied learning principles with mature learners
