Reporting to the Associate Registrar and Manager of Registration Services, the Academic Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for academic scheduling and related duties in support of the Registrar’s Office.

The Academic Scheduling Coordinator is the university’s expert on academic scheduling and classroom and academic space allocation, bridging the application of academic planning and procedures, record management and scheduling with the capabilities of EMS Campus to support space allocation. Working with minimal supervision, the Academic Scheduling Coordinator works with Campus Services and other key operational units to ensure that our classroom allocation software, currently EMS Campus, provides an effective and efficient system to meet the specific needs of the many and varied academic programs. In addition to the operation of the academic scheduling software and the provision of first level support and assistance to academic schedulers, the Academic Scheduling Coordinator configures and tests the system, oversees data integrity, and creates and maintains business processes and training materials. The Academic Scheduling Coordinator is a key resource, providing expertise, recommendations and advice as needed.   

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 3 years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A working knowledge of common campus-specific and other computer application programs, particularly the student information systems for degree-credit and non-credit academic programming
  • Above-average ability to quickly gain proficiency with a software product
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate technically complex concepts in plain language
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to multitask

Preference may be given to candidates with EMS software experience and experience in software training.

This is a regular full-time position working 37.5 hours per week.  The role is positioned within Grade 3 with a recruitment salary range starting at $44,516 per annum.  The University is also pleased to offer a comprehensive benefits package.
