The Faculty of Management is seeking applications from experienced and energetic individuals to join their team. 

As the Administrative Assistant to the Dean’s Office you will provide overall administrative and clerical support to the Dean as well as to the Administrative Manager of the Faculty of Management.  This includes the planning, co-ordination and implementation of day-to-day administrative and clerical functions within the Dean’s Office, serving as one of the main contacts for the Dean’s Office (both internally and externally) and working with special projects and tasks.  In addition, you will serve as a coordinator/liaison/lead for special events or projects undertaken by the Dean’s Office.  You will be required at times to communicate on the Dean’s behalf and as such must conduct yourself accordingly with the situation, especially when dealing with our program affiliates, external stakeholders, learners, and staff and faculty.

This is a regular, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week.  This position has been evaluated at Grade 2 and the university is pleased to offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative experience, including demonstrated experience supporting multiple managers
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, use sound judgment, diplomacy and tact when acting on the Dean’s behalf (i.e., when responding to the Dean’s (confidential) e-mails, telephone calls and correspondence) 
  • Pro-active customer service skills and a commitment to service excellence
  • Sound computer skills including Microsoft office suite and intranet organization
  • Skilled in Internet searches and organizing and presenting information retrieved
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan and coordinate complex projects effectively using effective time-management and creative problem solving skills 
  • Ability to work in and promote a positive team environment
  • Conflict resolution skills and experience
