Throughout this course you will have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the latest research and practice in the field of consumer behaviour and consumer research as it relates to making marketing and communications decisions across borders and cultures. You will have the opportunity to examine consumption in the context of culture, the notion of ‘global consumers’, and divergence and convergence of consumption and consumer behaviour. Throughout the course you will develop a strong foundation for critical thinking in different areas of consumer behaviour and consumption research and experiential exercises will help you translate this knowledge into effective marketing communications actions and strategies. Viewing international marketing decisions such as branding and communication from a cultural perspective will allow you to develop the ability to make marketing and communications decisions appropriate for different national contexts. Qualifications: The ideal candidate for teaching at RRU is someone who has experience as a scholar and a practitioner.
