Associate faculty hold limited-term contracts to teach individual courses in our programs.

The School of Business is seeking applications for Associate Faculty to teach in the field of Finance in the Bachelor of Business Administration (on-campus) and Bachelor of Commerce (on-campus and online).   All teaching opportunities are for the 2017/18 school year.

The School of Business is dedicated to educating both aspiring and existing professionals in the business field.  Our emphasis is on relevant, applied skills aimed at developing business professionals who are strong communicators, critical thinkers, problem solvers, ethical leaders, globally-aware citizens and effective team members.

Associate faculty members play a key role in the delivery of the school’s programs. Our Associate Faculty members bring a scholar-practitioner perspective to their teaching, combining appropriate academic theory with real-world experience. All Associate Faculty positions are limited-term, contract positions. Royal Roads University provides instructional and Moodle skills training through our Centre for Teaching and Educational Technology.

Course Descriptions:

ENMN426: Finance

Explores the financial system and its relationship to financial markets using financial models for predicting funding requirements for various organizational structures. Examines the process of raising funds and determining the capital structure that is appropriate to the level of business risk.


The ideal candidate for teaching at RRU is someone who has experience as a scholar and a practitioner. For our programs, requisite qualifications include:

  • a graduate degree (PhD preferred) in a field related to Finance

  • professional experience working in the field related to course content

  • expertise that aligns with the focus of the program and courses

  • demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate level

  • experience working within an outcomes-based curriculum

  • experience teaching in intercultural classes

  • a teaching philosophy that is compatible with RRU’S Learning and Teaching Model, available at:

  • experience teaching in web-based distance education programs and face-to-face environments
