Job description: 

The Coordinator, International Liaison works within a team responsible for international partnerships, programs, mobility and recruitment and plays a role in each area to support the unit and internationalization strategy of the university. The Coordinator is responsible for the supervision, coordination, and implementation of student exchange programs that facilitate inbound and outbound student mobility. The Coordinator also oversees international prospect management, advises on admissions requirements and procedures, maintains comprehensive knowledge of program offerings, and connects prospective students with relevant internal units and program areas, as appropriate. Recruitment efforts are supported by the Coordinator role and on-shore and international travel may be required. The Coordinator establishes and adheres to administrative processes, procedures and ensures smooth operations by bridging the work of the unit with other university units, key stakeholders, faculty, off-shore partners, and potential students.

Qualifications: 
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in international education in a post-secondary setting, including previous experience administering student mobility programs and participating in student recruitment activities.
  • Experience advising international students or young adults about Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations, policies and procedures and knowledge about temporary and permanent residence considered a valued asset.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, exceptional analytical thinking, excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate to a diverse audience through various mediums.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity, and a general understanding of communication protocol and etiquette as they vary across cultures.
  • Experience with planning events varying in scale and scope, including demonstrated ability to positively represent the university, host guests, deliver presentations, and lead the agenda of events.
  • Demonstrated ability providing one-to-one advising, including the ability to address small and large groups in informal and formal settings, including the ability to adapt speaking and presentation style to people of various linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Well-developed project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs an asset.
  • Experience studying, working and/or travelling abroad; personal experience as an exchange or international student an asset.
  • Fluency in other languages an asset.
  • On-shore and international travel may be required as well as occasional evening and weekend hours.

This is a regular full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. The role is positioned within Grade 3 with a recruitment salary range starting at $42,864 per annum. Royal Roads University is also pleased to offer a comprehensive benefits package.
