Job description: 

Reporting to the Manager, Creative Services you will be responsible with coordinating the creative production to optimize timing and in order to meet the university’s targets for growth, retention and profitability. You will assist the manager in overall studio workflow within the Creative Services team to ensure all projects are dispatched to clients on time and on budget.

You lead, or assist, the process and efficiency elements of projects as well as full projects that relate to branded merchandise, gift strategy and recruitment promotional items. You are also required to take on design/production projects as required and are responsible for helping to maintain the visual design integrity of RRU's presence.

You will function with a significant level of freedom; you are able to project manage your tasks and operate on a relatively independent basis.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in graphic design, marketing or advertising industry.
  • University degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Graphic Designers of Canada membership considered an asset.
  • Advertising agency experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated skill in coordinating production or project management experience.
  • Understands the organizational goals and values, and demonstrates ambitions to help bring those goals to life.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize competing needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and expectations.
  • A working knowledge of various types of media, including effective web design and video production.
  • Substantial experience with Adobe CS software: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator etc.
  • Negotiating for goods and services and managing designers, printers, promotional marketers, and related service providers.
  • Bringing new, creative ideas, energy and approaches to support the work of the creative team.
  • A proven ability coordinate marketing production related activities.
  • Organizational abilities in a multi-task environment with coordinated deadlines and goals.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • Unwavering attention to deadlines and detail.
