Job description: 

Reporting to the Director, International Collaboration and Training, you will help coordinate, facilitate and participate in international student activities and events throughout the summer as a part of the cultural experience for various international contract training summer programs. You will work directly with the international students to provide orientations, campus tours, facilitate classroom time including making announcements in class, provide translations when needed, escorting groups on field trips and cultural activities. You will provide event planning and administrative support to the International Contract Training team.   Having sound knowledge of Victoria, the university and its history is an asset.


To be well suited to the role you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • A minimum of one year relevant experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Experience successfully organizing activities and events
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment
  • Enthusiasm for working with students from overseas
  • A valid BC driver’s license in good standing is an asset
  • Fluency in spoken Japanese or Korean would be an asset

This is a casual, on-call position that will include evenings and weekends.  The hourly wage is $20.00 and the University is pleased to offer a percentage of salary in lieu of vacation.
