Royal Roads University is entering the second year of an ambitious 5 Year  Plan to transform the Education and Information Technology platforms supporting our unique Learning and Teaching Model. We are making significant investments in technology and growing a portfolio of technology projects. As Director of the Technology PMO you will build and lead a team of project managers, ensuring that financial investments, resources and deliverables are aligned across the portfolio and that the programs are delivering their strategic objectives. You will seek out and develop strong partnership with key stakeholders, clients and decision makers, and support the prioritization, resourcing and delivery of multiple technology programs and projects.

  • A Post-secondary undergraduate Information Technology degree or Technology diploma
  • PMP Certification from the Project Management Institute or other recognized project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMAC).
  • A Portfolio or Program Management Office certification     
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience as Senior Project Manager, implementing and leading PMO’s considered an asset.
  • A proven track record of successful program delivery. 
  • Specific knowledge of Project and Program management and the associated methodologies, techniques, processes and approaches. 
  • Strong financial management skills to manage project/program/strategy budgets
  • Strategy development and planning
  • Ability to provide oversight and influence project/program outcomes
  • Ability to mentor or coach others to provide PM expertise
  • Ability to personally manage multiple goals and deadlines
  • Provide strong leadership and negotiation to resolve conflicts
  • Excellent communicator who can represent RRU’s Technology interests at all levels by demonstrating sound business acumen;
  • Expertise and experience building strong working relationships with staff, customers, vendors, stakeholders and executive.
  • Capable of working under pressure meeting contract deadlines; at ease with negotiations and maintains an uncompromising commitment to quality.
  • Some travel maybe required 
  • Knowledge and understanding of education within a post-secondary organizational culture would be an advantage
