Job description: 

Royal Roads University (RRU) is seeking applications for a limited-term full time faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level in the School of Humanitarian Studies, Faculty of Social and Applied Sciences.  Royal Roads University is located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.  With a reputation for innovation, RRU is a leader in the delivery of blended learning programs, which combine intensive residency experiences with online course work.

This term position will include teaching in any of the programs in the school, as well the following academic administration responsibilities for graduate programs:

a) serving as the acting program head and thesis coordinator for the Human Security and Peacebuilding Program Head for a 6 month period,

b) academic support for the development of new elective courses in the three graduate programs in the school, and

c) academic course coordination for all elective and shared courses in the three graduate programs.

The successful applicant will be qualified to teach in at least 4 of the undergraduate or graduate programs in the school, and will have experience with academic administration and course development.  You will have experience with a range of different academic administration functions and a demonstrated track record of successful collaboration with internal and external partners in the development and delivery of academic programs.

Qualifications: 

To be considered, candidates will possess:

  • A doctorate in a related field
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Academic administrative experience
  • Experience in course development with an inter-disciplinary and outcomes-based curriculum
