You will play a key role in the administrative and academic leadership for the Year 2 undergraduate courses, and assistance with other programs. In terms of teaching, you will instruct in management subjects in the areas of tourism and hospitality such as hotel related operations, marketing, finance, sales and service, special event planning, entrepreneurship, globalization, and/or law in the 2nd Year as well as at the 3rd and 4th year. You will provide academic administration for the program planning, delivery, quality and reporting. Qualifications: Master’s degree required; Doctorate, or working towards a Doctorate, would be preferredExperience in teaching a largely international group of studentsSenior management experience, in hospitality, tourism, travel and / or related service industries; international experience an assetDemonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate level (employing adult learning and applied learning principles) in the fields of hospitality, hotel management and tourismA broad theoretical and practical understanding of hospitality, hotel management and tourismExperience in the hospitality, hotel management and tourism sectors, and ability to develop networks of high-level contacts in these sectorsAbility to work within an interdisciplinary outcomes-based curriculumAbility to manage a field of study within a school, and in lead a team of faculty membersProven track record in program, administration, curriculum coordination and oversight and building strong cultureExperience in curriculum design and developmentExcellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skillsComfortable with leading 3-4 day field trips that may involve traveling overnight outside of the lower Vancouver Island region.Willingness to participate in service related activities for the school such as marketing and recruitmentProven expertise in time management, planning and implementation of complex tasks Application submission information: In addition to a collegial learning community, RRU offers a comprehensive compensation package, with a starting salary and academic rank based on qualifications and experience.
