Job description: 

Royal Roads University invites your interest in a Faculty role within our School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Faculty of Management.  You will play a key role in the management and oversight of the delivery of the BA International Hotel Management program and assistance with other programs.  In terms of teaching, you will instruct in management subjects in the areas of tourism and hospitality such as marketing, globalization, sustainability and / or hotel related operations.  You will provide academic administration for the program planning, delivery, quality and reporting.

Qualifications: 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Doctorate, or working towards a Doctorate, would be preferred
  • Management experience, preferably executive level, in hospitality, tourism, travel and / or related service industries
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate level (employing adult learning and applied learning principles) in the fields of hotel management or tourism, with both domestic and international students
  • A broad theoretical and practical understanding of hospitality, tourism, creative economy and management reflected in credentials and work experience
  • Experience in the hospitality, and tourism sectors, and ability to build and develop networks of high-level contacts in these sectors
  • Ability to work within an interdisciplinary outcomes-based curriculum and distance learning
  • Ability to manage a field of study within a school, and in lead a team of faculty members
  • Experience in curriculum design and development
  • Willingness to participate in service related activities for the school such as marketing and recruitment
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
