Job description: 

Reporting to an Associate Director, Human Resources you will be the initial point of contact for reception functions and general inquiries posed to the department.  In this integral role you will perform a variety of administrative functions in support of the Human Resources team and key departmental processes such as: recruitment, selection and onboarding support; employee contract preparation; reconciling utilization of the relocation assistance program; facilitation of the New Employee Orientation program; coordination of the monthly tour schedule for employees; and the management of the departmental filing system.

Your commitment to service combined with your positive attitude, dedicated work ethic and superior communication and interpersonal skills will ensure you are well suited to this role. In this role you will also support the RRU Employee Experience through various departmental activities including recognition programs and events, as well as performing other related functions as assigned.  



To be well qualified for the role you will require the following qualifications and competencies: 

  • Three to five years of related administrative experience within a dynamic environment
  • Previous experience working with the Human Resources field would be an asset
  • Some Post Secondary education in Human Resources preferred
  • An orientation to systems thinking and the ability to see the interplay between all departmental activities
  • An enthusiastic and positive attitude is a key attribute
  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Goal oriented with a strong work ethic  
  • Superior Communication and interpersonal skills demonstrating tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent administrative and office organizational skills
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office Suite), familiarity with HRIS systems an asset
  • Ability to investigate/research solutions in a pro-active manner
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with a high degree of discretion
  • Working towards a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation an asset

This is a regular full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. The role is positioned within Grade 2 with a recruitment salary range starting at $38,120 per annum. Royal Roads University is also pleased to offer a comprehensive benefits package.
