In this role you will design, install and support the underlying infrastructure that lets technology operate smoothly for all our staff, faculty and students. You will play an integral part of maintaining the data and voice networks, as well as data storage, virtualized server infrastructure, disaster recovery preparedness and network security. This position will be required to collaborate and communicate continuously with the IT Services team and the university community to ensure projects and initiatives are appropriately defined and successfully implemented or completed. Additionally, you will be required the ability to operate systems in a maintainable fashion, keeping excellent documentation, implementing redundancy and applying sound security principals. Qualifications: To be well suited to the role you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:Formal training/education in Network administration and five to ten years of relevant work experienceFormal training/education in Computer Systems securityExcellent problem solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExpert experience with VoIP /SIP/T.38 protocolsExpert knowledge of Local and Campus Area NetworkingExpert experience with Switch configuration (VLANs, ACLs, STP, etc)Expert knowledge of Firewalls, IPTables and advanced RoutingExpert experience with 802.11 Wireless networkingAdvanced knowledge of Fibre Optic cablingAdvanced experience with both Interior and Exterior Data cablingAdvanced experience with Linux and common Open Source softwareAdvanced experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and Enterprise toolsAdvanced scripting abilities (Powershell, BASH, Perl, etc)Advanced knowledge of SAN, Storage redundancy and iSCSIAdvanced experience with Apache and PHP environmentsAdvanced experience with VMWare ESX and vCloudExperience with Security scanning and remediationExperience administering cloud services including Office 365 and AzureExperience administering Java servers (Tomcat, Jetty, etc) Application submission information: This is a regular full-time position working 37.5 hours per week.
