This is a replacement for a full-time position.

Reporting to the Manager, Learning Design Services, you will manage a portfolio of course design and development projects and ensure quality for both online and face-to-face course projects.  You will lead the project function by working in a team environment with faculty and staff to design, develop, and deliver all components of courses and you will act as the CTET point of contact for your assigned program area for issues related to curriculum.  You will design, develop, and facilitate faculty development workshops on intercultural communication and relationships, cross-cultural relations, awareness of the complex issues at play in a multicultural society, and cultural diversity. In addition, you will research, write, and present on the latest trends and issues in intercultural education, pedagogy/andragogy, and technology. 


To be well suited to the role you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Graduate degree in educational psychology, intercultural education, educational technology, distance education or a related field
  • Minimum three years’ experience in designing and delivering online courses preferably in a post-secondary environment
  • Experience working on teams with technical professionals and faculty
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to research and/or create innovative solutions
  • Strong instructional and presentation skills (online and face-to-face)
  • Ability to work to deadlines, juggling multiple priorities and tasks
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, including writing and editing
  • Ability to work as a positive, contributing member of a team in a service-oriented approach
  • Strong computer skills (web applications, other educational technologies, MS Office suite)
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS) (e.g.:  Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, etc.)

The following will be considered an asset:

  • Experience working with design and development of intercultural curriculum and program development in post-secondary sector
  • Experience working with Moodle LMS
  • Experience with program mapping
  • Advanced skills in designing and facilitating live synchronous sessions (web conferencing, e.g., Blackboard Collaborate, Bluejeans, Adobe Connect, etc.)

This is a regular full-time on campus position working 37.5 hours per week.  The position has been evaluated at Grade 4 with a recruitment range that starts at $53,768 per annum. The University is pleased to offer a comprehensive benefit package.
