Job description: 

The International Administrative Associate provides overall administrative and clerical support to the Office of International Collaboration and Development. This includes the planning, co-ordination and implementation of day-to-day administrative and clerical functions within the office, serving as the main contact for the Director (both internally and externally). The International Administrative Associate supports the coordination of domestic and international special events and projects undertaken by the Director. The International Administrative Associate will be aware of cross-cultural sensitivities in dealings with international educational institutions, embassies, and government agencies.

  • Relevant diploma or degree or equivalent combination of experience and professional development plus three years of progressive experience providing administrative support.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, use sound judgment, diplomacy and tact when acting on the Director’s behalf.
  • Possess exceptional organizational abilities, including priority setting, time and project management skills.
  • Pro-active customer service skills and a commitment to service excellence.
  • Demonstrated research and analytical abilities. Experience gathering relevant information from a variety of sources.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate complex projects effectively using effective time-management and creative problem solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new situations easily and learn quickly.
  • Strong administrative skills, including budget and management of office administrative systems and procedures, records management and correspondence tracking.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise a high degree of discretion.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity, and a general understanding of communication protocol and etiquette as they vary across cultures, is an asset.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and Business Contact Manager

This is a regular full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. The position has been evaluated at Grade 2 with a recruitment salary range that starts at $38,120 per annum. The University is also pleased to offer a comprehensive benefits package.
