Job description: 

Reporting to the Director, International Collaboration & Development, you will support the coordination and the facilitation of the delivery of competitive, leading edge and high quality non-credit/custom programs for international groups. Working in a multi-tasking, team environment, you will be responsible for representing RRU and managing client/customer needs and expectations.

To be well suited for this position you must have excellent organizational abilities, exceptional customer service skills and be technically proficient. As a team player, you must enjoy working with a degree of autonomy and in ambiguity, yet have the competencies to coordinate and integrate a team of staff, faculty, clients and students. You must have a sensitivity and affinity for clients from other cultures, as well as patience and understanding of the difficulties they are encountering as a visitor to Canada and Royal Roads University. This position requires a flexible individual, capable of working evenings, weekends and occasional split shifts to serve customer/learner needs.


To be well suited to the role you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of experience in the areas of client-centered service, events coordination, and program development and administration; or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Experience in implementing successful international programs for various client groups
  • Experience in program development and evaluation
  • Demonstrated experience preparing financial reports, analyzing and managing budgets, planning, implementing, and evaluating large programs and events
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including technical writing skills
  • Demonstrated intercultural competencies through a second language or lived/worked overseas and/or developed and implemented programs for a culturally diverse client group
  • Ability to operate in an environment of aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Strong diplomatic skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment in interpersonal relations
  • Ability to liaise effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally, and maintain a professional approach to working relationships and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Advanced computer skills (including MS Office Suite, Basic HTML, & familiarity with database systems such as Agresso and EMS)
  • Ability to work in a creative, driven, team-based, and collaborative environment
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
  • Class 4 driver’s license

This is a temporary full-time position working on campus for 37.5 hours per week for approximately 6 months, with the possibility of extension depending on operational need. The position has been evaluated at Grade 3 and the recruitment range starts at $42,864 per annum.
