Job description: 

Reporting to the Manager, Professional and Continuing Studies and working within a collaborative team environment, the Learning and Development Advisor is responsible to support the implementation and administration of programs and services for our competitive, leading edge and high quality educational training programs.  The Learning and Development Advisor plays a lead role between faculty, contractors, students and internal and external RRU stakeholders.  The Advisor supports the overall vision and contributions of the Professional and Continuing Studies unit by supporting the planning of training and providing personalized follow up with clients, students and faculty. 

  • Degree in a relevant field  and at least 5-7 years of experience in the areas of client-centered service,  program development and administration; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of adult education requirements, principals, methods and processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the analysis, design, delivery, implementation and evaluation of learning and development opportunities for adults
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including presentation skills, technical writing skills  and learning technology trends and issues
  • Ability to liaise effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally, and maintain a professional approach to working relationships and conflict resolution
  • Experience managing education or training contracts is required
  • Ability to operate in an environment of deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Strong diplomatic skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office Suite, Learning, Data and/or Content Management systems, and Social Media platforms)
  • Ability to work in a creative and driven, team-based, collaborative environment

This is a regular full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. The role is positioned within Grade 4 with a recruitment salary range starting at $53,768 per annum. Royal Roads University is also pleased to offer a comprehensive benefits package.
