Job description: 

Reporting to the Manager of Learning Technologies you will be responsible for ensuring timely course production, course quality, user training, support, and documentation.   In a team environment, you will work on courses and projects to ensure innovative and effective use of technology that delivers high quality learning and teaching experiences for RRU students and faculty. 


To be well suited to the role you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

•   Post-secondary degree or diploma in relevant field, plus minimum one year relevant combination of skills and experience

•   Attention to detail, highly organized, ability to meet deadlines

•   Strong web skills (HTML/CSS, web layout, writing for the web), and general computing skills (MS Office, file manipulation, remote access).

•   Produces quality images, audio and video for a web environment

•   Experience coordinating projects with a proven ability to establish priorities, identify tasks, coordinate the activities of project participants and report on the status of a project

•   Experience with the following would be considered an asset:

     Moodle and Blackboard Collaborate (or similar)

     PC, Mac, and mobile platforms

     E-learning trends, issues and technologies

•   Works independently, and as a positive contributing member of a team, in a changing and innovative institutional environment

•   Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions about a course of action within the scope of the position

•   Contribute to a work environment that is sensitive to the effect of personal language and actions on others.

•   Take a professional approach to maintaining positive relationships and resolving conflict in order to promote a respectful and harmonious work environment.

•   Positive, professional relations with clients and external organizations in order to support University objectives of excellence in service.

This is a temporary full-time position working 37.5 hours per week on campus for approximately 6 months, with the possibility of extension dependent on operational need.  The position has been evaluated at Grade 3 with a recruitment range that starts at $42,864 per annum.  The university is pleased to offer a percentage of salary in lieu of vacation.
