The successful candidate must be able to manage building equipment and systems to the highest standard in order to maximize occupant comfort and ensure energy savings are optimized. The incumbent is responsible for quality work in a timely manner and ensuring that all duties are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with all statutory codes and regulations and any operational systems established by the department from time to time. Must conduct themselves in a professional, respectful manner at all times and is responsible to ensure they have a positive solution based attitude in the delivery of their work. Qualifications: Minimal 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate combined with 3 years DDC experienceGrade 12 plus ten (5) years recent experience performing duties related to the position, including one (1) year in a similar role utilizing shop and hand tools, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experienceExtensive institutional HVAC experience or equivalentPossession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license in the province of BCBasic safety and equipment maintenance knowledge as well as comfort presenting technical informationAbility to communicate effectively verbally, in writing and by emailPhysical ability to carry out the duties of the positionAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to work with basic computer functionsPreferred Qualification in one or more of the followingHeating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) BC trade qualificationDelta Controls and Alerton controlsDDC ability to make minor programing changesExperience conducting service work within an institutional environmentKnowledge of WHMIS and H&S Policy and procedures Application submission information: This position is regular full-time working 37.5 hours per week.
