Job description: 

Reporting to the Director, Professional and Continuing Studies, the Manager, Professional and Continuing Studies is responsible for the procurement, sales and delivery of short courses/programs in Continuing Studies and graduate credit certificate courses in the Faculty of Management (FoM).

In this role you will build long-term alliances and relationships with stakeholders and both internal and external clients including: program delivery partners, businesses and professional organizations.

In addition, you will contribute to the strategic plan, goals and budget of the Professional and Continuing Studies unit ensuring alignment of program curricula and design with the academic units.

Qualifications: 

To be well suited to the role you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

    • Graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g. Learning and Technology or Adult Education) or an equivalent combination of education and experience and a minimum of 5 years related experience in Continuing Studies, business development, and/or executive education including supervisory experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to design strategies and approaches to meet emerging learner needs using innovative design and delivery methods including: face to face, blended, e-learning and emerging web-based technologies.
    • Experience managing projects throughout the project management life cycle.
    • Superior writing abilities, specifically for proposals and contracts.
    • Comfortable working with complex contracts and awareness of the various legal requirements/implications.
    • In-depth knowledge of domestic adult education markets.
    • Ability to bring new, creative ideas, energy and approaches to existing strategies.
    • Strong oral communication and presentation skills.
    • A relationship-management focused mindset and a passion for, and proven demonstration of, customer service.
    • Advanced computer skills: Windows, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Scheduler+), database management, project management, and budget tracking.
    • Some travel may be required.

This is a regular full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. The role is positioned within Grade 5 with a recruitment salary range of $66,586 - $83,232 per annum. Royal Roads University is also pleased to offer a comprehensive benefits package.
