Job description: 

Under the general direction of the Manager, Accounting, the Student Accounts Associate, International Programs is primarily responsible for student account management and for providing customer service for international programs and partnership organizations.  This position is also responsible for the timely and accurate invoicing of all tuition and other revenues; and the collection of all student accounts receivable for international programs, in accordance with established credit and collection policies and procedures. 

Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of five years customer service experience, preferably with accounting and/or business experience
  • Minimum of three years of collections experience
  • Demonstrated experience in working with people from other cultures and countries an asset
  • Bilingual fluency in Mandarin and English an asset 
  • A dedicated service orientation when dealing with all internal or external clients (ie. students, prospective students, sponsoring organizations, faculty, support staff, etc)
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficient in MS Office suite software and especially good knowledge of excel; knowledge or experience with Agresso Financials an asset
  • Demonstrated decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience analyzing financial transactions and completing financial reconciliations
  • Strong team ethic with the ability to work well with others and individually
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in complex situations where the range of options is not obvious by policy or procedures and the consequence of error will have a measurable impact
  • Ability to deal with conflict and achieve resolution in difficult situations
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and learn quickly
  • Ability to interpret and apply established institutional and departmental policies and procedures

This is a temporary full-time position working 37.5 hours per week on campus for approximately 12 months. The position has been evaluated at Grade 3 with a recruitment range that starts at $44,295 per annum. The University is pleased to offer a percentage of salary in lieu of vacation.
