Job description: 

As part of our Computer Services and Information Technology team you will be responsible for providing support in an ITIL environment in the use of office tools, distributed learning tools, corporate applications and the Intranet/Portal systems.  You will provide end user support to learners, faculty and staff in appropriate software applications and/or with hardware as required.  This is a Helpdesk position.  Support is generally provided face to face, over the phone, via email and using our ticket tracking system.   

Qualifications: 
  • A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years technical support experience; a University degree, or College diploma in a computer related field would be an asset
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Mac OSX, a variety of internet browsers, and Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of Exchange Administrator and Active Directory
  • Familiarity with various web tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues relating to viruses, pop-ups etc.
  • Well-developed communications, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Be capable and comfortable of providing assistance/support via phone, e-mail or in a face to face environment
  • A well developed customer service orientation
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

This is a temporary full-time position working 37.5 hours per week for approximately seven months, with the possibility of extension depending on operational need. The position has been evaluated at Grade 3 and the recruitment range starts at $43,487 per annum.
