Working collaboratively with the academic units, you will develop and facilitate a blended curriculum in career development that is relevant to the students’ field of study. In this role you will also provide individual coaching to students as they develop their personal action plans, as well as overall case management that extends throughout the students’ workplace experience and helps to ensure that desired learning outcomes are being achieved.To support the currency and relevancy of curriculum design, you will develop and maintain industry relations in one (or more) of the following professional fields: Tourism and Hospitality, Humanitarian Studies, Professional Communication, and Global Business Administration. You will also be required to outreach to the business community to support the Office’s initiatives such as mock interviews, networking sessions and the annual Career Development Day. In addition you will collaborate with Career Enhancement Services, Accessibility Services, Coaching & Counselling and International Student Services to support student preparedness and success. In this role you will work to support the general initiatives of the Work Integrated Learning office, and share the responsibilities for updating and maintaining Work Integrated Learning protocol documents and publications, including: electronic handbooks, student contracts, website information and RRU’s industry database. Qualifications: To be well suited to the role you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:Bachelor’s degree and three years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience working with the theory and practice of career planning and employment issues, such as adult education, counseling, career planning, job search, and employer developmentBasic research skills and ability to analyze and interpret informationExperience working with and supporting academic program offices through a co-op education modelDemonstrated experience developing and facilitating workshops and conducting presentationsExcellent coaching, communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, as well as a high level of diplomacy, tact, and judgment necessary when dealing with difficult situationsAbility to liaise and communicate with students and employers from a broad range of cultural and socio-economic backgroundsAbility to handle confidential material and information with discretionAdvanced computer skills (including MS Office Suite, Blackboard Collaborate, digital media); skilled at using emergent technologies to reach a global audienceKnowledge of the programs and strategic directions of Royal Roads University is an asset Application submission information: This is a regular full-time position working 37.5 hours per week.
