  • For extensions beginning with a "2", they can dial (250)391-(your 4 digit extension)


  • For all other numbers, they can dial (250)391-2600 and enter your 4 digit extension when prompted, followed by the "#" sign

Telephone Charges

Your job functions may require you to place long-distance calls.  If this is the case, you will be asked to complete and submit a long distance account code authorization form.  You will then receive, via email, a 5-digit authorization code.  This code should be kept confidential, as you are responsible for any calls made using your code.

If you feel that the confidentiality of your personal authorization code has been compromised, please contact the Computer Help Desk by email or phone (extension 2659) to be issued a new code.

A service charge will be applied for all long distance calls (directory assistance, person-to-person and reverse charges).  These charges will be billed to your department.

Please note that the rates for long distance calls are as follows:

  • $0.06 per minute 24 hours a day within Noth America
  • $1.50 for directory assistance

Voice Messaging

For your convenience and confidentiality, your workstation is equipped with a voice messaging system.  In order to access your voice mailboxes you will require an itial password.

Your Password

  • Your initial password is set to 123456
  • Follow voice messaging instructions to set a new password

Please refer to the telephone/voice mail instructions included in your Departmental Orientation Package for more detailed information on recording outgoing messages, retrieving incoming messages and other features of your specific telephone.

To access your voice mail from on compus, select a line and press the "Message" or "MSG" button or dial 2660 (use you office extension when prompted for a room number).

To access your voice mail from off comapus, dial 250-391-2660 (use you office extension when prompted for a room number).

For assistance press * while in the mail system.
